Oaxaca City, Mexico Elopement

This Oaxaca City elopement in Mexico is filled with charming streets, an ancient tree, and the colorful energy of a lively couple and their friends who came together to celebrate love in a unique experience.

Jasmine found me through one of my photos of another Oaxaca elopement and reached out. I’m so glad she did because I truly had the best time getting to help her craft a beautiful day and have the best time ever. Also, thanks to Rooted Vows Oaxaca, (Tabatha) whom was the officiant and also served as a wonderful local resource of knowledge and helped coordinate.

Jasmine and Ryan both got ready separately at Hotel Escondido, before we headed off to Santa Maria del Tule for the ceremony. The ceremony took place in front of the famed Arbol del Tule, known for having the stoutest tree trunk in the world. Jasmine and Ryan incorporated a local artisanal rug to highlight the space, followed by personal vows, ring exchange, and even a broom jump before the first kiss.

We explored and took photos around the beautiful grounds and garden, before loading back into the shuttle van and heading to the Templo De Santo Domingo. After taking refuge for about 10 minutes from an evening rain storm we continued walking around the vibrant city before heading over to Selva Bar for celebratory drinks!
