Balboa Park Spring Engagement

Celyne + Michael

This spring Balboa Park session was such a dreamy and romantic shoot! I always love shooting in Balboa Park because it is so accessible while having so much variety in backdrops and scenery.

There’s always so many spots to choose from whether it’s the the Spanish architecture, dramatic doors, Organ Pavilion, Alcatraz Gardens, Cactus Gardens, the Rose Gardens, or even the colorful Spanish Village. But there was something so special shooting in the spring with all the blooms in full effect, warm weather, and lush gardens it was perfect!

We shot on a Thursday evening, I always recommend shooting here on the weekday because weekends can get very busy with lots of foot traffic, tourists, and lots of other photoshoots. As we shot around the park we kept saying how nice, calm, and empty it was! Which made our experience that much more easy and comfortable.

Celyne and Michael met on OkCupid and have been inseparable ever since. They share a love of dogs, plants, eating good food (specifically on Convoy St), and being outdoors. They both moved from out of state to San Diego, so having somewhere as iconic as the park seemed fitting for their photos.
