Sequoia Elopement at Beetle Rock

Sequoia National Park Elopement

Ali + Judd

Ali and Judd were set to get married on 4/20/20, smack in the height of the pandemic, of course with national park closures, it wasn’t even an option. So we pushed back for September… with 5 days out to their new date, the wildfires in California were just starting. I was personally already on location a few days early for a separate elopement when ashes the size of my hand were falling everywhere, air was rated hazardous, an orange haze took over the sky, and the park closed once more.

Things always have a way of working out. Ali + Judd (whom live in Connecticut) still hadn’t flown out, and with the new change of plans we pushed back once more. (They still got to enjoy their vacation time with a trip to Tulum!)

Finally, the stars aligned, we had a new date, and not to sound to cheesy but everything came together perfectly and “just felt right”.

We romped through the Giant Forrest in awe of the towering sequoias, Ali + Judd got to share their vows right at Parker Group, we stopped at Tunnel Log, and then made our way to Beetle Rock for a celebratory picnic overlooking the mountain range. They had their first dance on the granite slabs as “Rivers and Roads”, by the Head and the Heart played from their speaker. They both just wanted to take in the sunset, snack on some Brie, and have some champagne. My kinda people. :)

Truly magical + heartfelt.

Check out their day below xx
