Beetle Rock Elopement Sequoia NP

Beetle Rock Elopement Sequoia NP

Amanda + Wesley

This intimate elopement at Beetle Rock in Sequoia National Park was filled with crazy weather, big emotions, and the loveliest couple!

When Amanda + Wesley reached out, she mentioned she wanted to get married with just her closest best friend as the officiant, it should be on May 4th (Star Wars fans) and they knew they had to do it in the park, as that’s where they had so many of their first adventures and happy hiking memories.

The awesome part, is that they both are local, and live about an hours drive from the park. So the weeks leading up to our day, Amanda had great on site updates with conditions, since the park was still experiencing late snow and snow melt! We did shuffle our plans around a bit, because originally we wanted to have the ceremony at the beautiful Halstead Meadow, but due to the snow melt, it was marshy conditions. So we pivoted and went with good ole’ faithful Beetle Rock! Beetle Rock is always a great location for ceremonies since the ground is large slabs of rock.

On the day of, we met at the Beetle Rock parking lot, and immediately we could tell the weather would only hold off for so long. So we happily started with our first look, moved into the ceremony, and half way through it started to rain on us, after the ceremony, the fog rolled in quickly, and we headed to the car, so Amanda could warm up a bit.

We then headed over to Big Tree Trails for portraits! We took plenty of warming up breaks ( and a little shot of booze), but after a while snow began to fall heavily and Amanda + Wesley were eager to call it a day. They planned on changing, warming up, and having a hot meal back in town.

A short and sweet elopement but nonetheless beautiful! Check out their day below. xx
