Sequoia National Park Elopement
Sequoia Big Tree Trails Elopement
Mercedes + Matt
If there’s an opportunity to go to Sequoia, you can bet I’m always game! Especially this year, I make sure to appreciate extra hard every chance I get!
The park was closed for the majority of the year due to Covid, and then when I finally visited again in September (for two other elopements) the fires broke out right near the park causing a second closure, while I was already there!! I was able to get in for 1 day only before the ashes and air quality got out of control and got evacuated… Fast forward to November and the conditions couldn’t have been better.
We had sunny days down in the town of Three Rivers and then once you reached the Giant Forrest it was cloaked in snow which made for the dreamiest photos.
I met Mercedes + Matt at their cabin rental, they were so fun to be around from the beginning, Mercedes finished writing vows while Matt FaceTime’d his Mom. I was then able to organize a First Look for them down by the empty river bed which was a little emotional. :’)
Mercedes and Matt shared their vows along the Big Trees Trail after coming across the perfect cluster of Sequoia’s we began the ceremony, The Smith’s song “Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want”, echoed gently between the ancient trees as Mercedes made her way to Matt and they exchanged promises.
We then stomped around the snow taking photos, tried our best not to slip on the ice, and then made our way to Wolverton where they set up a delicious picnic spread with everything from bubbly champagne to basque cheese, Pâté, olives, and even coffee cupcakes! A beautiful end to such a wonderful day. Check my favorites below xx
