A Couples Vacation Guide To Tulum, Mexico

A Couples Mini Vacation Guide To Tulum, Mexico

Tulum

The perfect get-away location, a laid-back hippie beach town filled with tacos, acai, fresh eats, white beaches, cenotes, ancient ruins, and so much more!

If you’re planning to visit for your honeymoon or a well deserved R&R trip with your babe, here are my top couple friendly, must-do activities, places to eat, and worthy places to check out.

Getting Around

biking+ walking

Did you really visit Tulum if you didn’t bike around like a local? It’s the best way to explore the town without having to keep hailing a taxi (taxis tends to overcharge tourists btw) plus you get to experience all the shops, take your time exploring, and get those endorphins going. Bonus: They make for a good Insta-photo op :) Or bring comfy shoes and walk around, you’ll find that the popular must-visit spots are all within a relative walking distance of 10-30 minutes tops.

For day trips to the cenotes or the ruins feel free to grab a Taxi, just have your hotel call it in for you and ask for the rate up front so there are no surprise fees. Tip: tips aren’t included so make sure to tip your taxi a few pesos :)

Eat + Drinks

Adventure Together

Adventures and thrills

One of the best parts of Tulum is that it has so many fun activities for couples to indulge in in whether it’s extreme adventure or a more low-key relaxing adventure, here’s the top list of must do adventurous activities in Tulum.

  • Cenotes : There are multiple cenotes “swimming holes” that are located near Tulum , the most popular are : Gran Cenote, Cenote Caracol, and Cenotes Dos Ojos. Admission to the cenotes is anywhere from $3 USD to about $10 USD, they all have different hours, and make sure to bring a change of clothes. You can also opt to do a package deal tour of the cenotes with a travel company!

  • Yoga : The best place to stretch it out with your boo is at Sanara with their beachfront studio it’s the best place to get in the flow.

  • Mayan Ancient Ruins : A must-see-location when your in Tulum! For the best experience get there as soon as they open, the most interesting thing about this historical site is that the ancient Mayan ruins are perched on a cliff overlooking the Yucatan Peninsula making it THE most picturesque scene.

  • Paddle boarding: Enjoy your day by the white sandy beaches and rent a paddle board, when you get hungry just head back to the land for fresh fruit and a coco.

  • Diving Tours : If you’re both feeling adventurous, you’ll want to book a diving tour with a local company (you can do it online ahead of time) and spend the day out at sea diving with sea turtles!
